During the winter, the Borough of Avalon will receive a very significant beach fill project, reports nbc40.net.
Avalon Mayor Martin Pagliughi said: “This will be one of the most significant and important beach fill projects the Borough has conducted in our history. This base of the beach fill project will be totally financed by the federal government with State and Borough financing only being used if all three options are exercised by Avalon. This will provide us with a large protective and recreational beach heading into the spring and summer seasons of 2013”.
Norfolk Dredging Company announced that it will have its dredge “Charleston” in place on approximately December 15th, according to nbc40.net.
Once the beach renourishment project begins, the company will have 60 days to complete this beach fill program.
