According to Essap’s president Andrés Rivarola, they are working with power firm Itaipú Binacional to create a plan to clean up the waters of La República lake in Ciudad del Este, reports bnamericas.com.
He stated: “ We are drawing up a dredging plan to get rid of the slurry and debris that have piled up on the floor of the lake which affect the quality of the water we treat. ”
The dredging works under review are expected to clean-up the slurry and debris from the lake, with total costs estimated to be about US$700,000, informs bnamericas.com.
