The California State Lands Commission (CSLC) staff has prepared an Analysis of Impacts to Public Trust Resources and Values (APTR) for the proposed Broad Beach Restoration Project.
CSLC staff began accepting comments on the APTR on Monday, October 22, 2012, with comments originally due by Friday November 15, 2012, for consideration by CSLC staff in preparing its staff report to the Commission. The comment period for the APTR has been extended as the project will not be considered by CSLC for action at the December 5, 2012, Commission meeting, and in consideration of requests for additional time to submit comments on the APTR.
This project would address geologic hazards at Broad Beach associated with storms, flooding, beach and dune erosion, and anticipated sealevel rise, and would include the following components: sand nourishment and beach replenishment, revetment, sand importation, dune building and restoration, beach widening, and public access enhancement.
