On November 8, CCCC Third Harbor Engineering Co., Ltd. and CCCC Fourth Harbor Engineering Co., Ltd. won the bids for Section 2 and Section 1 of the hydraulic structure works of Phase 3 in Nansha zone of Guangzhou Port, with a total contract value of 1.573 billion yuan and a construction period of 608 days.

Located in the lower segment of the east coastline of Longxue Island in Nansha and the lower reaches of Phase 2, the project is a key construction project in Guangzhou and Guangdong. Section 2 undertaken by CCCC Third Harbor Engineering Co., Ltd. involves hydraulic structures of three 100000t berths, road & yard, underground pipeline and ancillary production buildings, with a contract value of 700 million yuan. Section 1 undertaken by CCCC Fourth Harbor Engineering Co., Ltd. involves 12 20000t multi-purpose container vessel berths, two working vessel berths, two 70000t container berths, one 100000t container berth and supporting facilities, with a contract value of 873 million yuan.

The project is of great importance to meeting the demand of Guangdong, especially the Pearl River Delta, for the fast development of container transport, adapting to the trend of container vessel upsizing, improving the through capacity of containers in Guangzhou Port and giving full play to the radiating and driving role of Nansha zone in the development of the hinterland economy.
