India: Sal River Dredging Gets Nod

The Cavelossim residents have decided to give their consent for the proposed Sal river dredging project, reports goacom.com.

Ms Viola D’Costa , the sarpanch, pointed out that this dredging program is very important for everybody who is facing navigational problems on the river, and added: “ The panchayat will inform the Captain of Ports (CoP) about the fresh resolution. ”

The CoP officials have announced that it was important that the dredging work commenced immediately, adding that they had already received a proposal from the Cutbona trawler and boat owners to dredge the river mouth.
