The capital investments of the Port of Illichivsk amounted to 147,6 million UAH for 10 months 2012, it is 52 million UAH more than for the same period last year.
During the current year the major investments of the Port are as follows: two “Sennebogen” Material Handling Machines for general and bulk cargoes, one new ship-to-shore container crane produced by “Konecranes”, a diesel generator set for “Bogatyr” floating crane. Electrical magnets for gantry cranes, 5 tractors for cargo handling operations had been purchased by the Port. Additionally the Port purchased the reinforced-concrete blocks – for the purpose of fencing the bulk cargo storage spaces, as well as facilities for re-equipment of electrical transformer substations. Upgrading of the third pair of “Sokol” gantry cranes has been completed in the Port of Illichivsk.
“ Next year we will also continue a large-scale port development. This is primarily, an ambitious project on the approach channel dredging works, purchasing of “Sokol” gantry crane with lifting capacity of 32 tons and one more diesel generator set for “Bogatyr” floating crane. Upgrading program for “Sokol” and “Kondor” cranes will be continued. We will purchase 10 lift trucks, carrying capacity of 1.5 tons, a few hundred meters of modern boom defense for improving ecological control in the port, ”- said Alexander Grygorashenko, the General Director of the port .
Since the beginning of the year the Port of llichivsk has spent 87.1 million UAH for procurement of new equipment. 52 .7 million USD had been spent for upgrading of the existing technical facilities. Expenditures for capital construction amounted to 4.4 million USD. Until the end of the year the Port intends to invest about 10 million USD into the purchase of new equipment.
