The Regional Development Council (RDC) 12 has called the attention of concerned agencies to fast track implementation of infrastructure projects in a bid to promote further development in Soccsksargen region.

RDC 12 chair and General Santos City mayor Darlene Antonino-Custodio said that delayed implementation can slow down movement of business enterprises which in turn could delay development in the area.

Custodio emphasized that involved agencies should coordinate closely with the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) 12 to determine problems and plan out actions that should be taken to address these concerns.

Some of the infrastructure projects that need immediate implementation are the development of the General Santos City International Airport, Kalamansig-Maitum road as well as the concreting of Matalam-Mlang-Bagontapay national highway.

This also include the continuation of the phase 5 dredging project of the Rio Grande de Mindanao as well as the flood control projects and drainage plans in General Santos City and Koronadal cities.

Alfredo Bronx Hebrona, chair of the RDC Infrastructure Committee explained that these projects require immediate action and funding support.

RDC will do its best to provide assistance in the pursuit of these infrastructure activities, Custodio said.
