The long-awaited dredging project in the Accabonac Harbor has officially commenced, reports 27east.com.
County Legislator Jay Schneiderman stated that this nearly $1.15 million dredging program will continue through January 15.
Gibson & Cushman Contracting Inc. is conducting this very important project, according to patch.com.
The Accabonac Harbor dredging project will include opening the inlet and channel, as well as rebuilding the Louse Point Beach.
“ This is fabulous. I’m very grateful to Jay for getting the funding for us, ” East Hampton Town Trustee Clerk Diane McNally said, adding, “ Dredging is so important to so many townships. We’ve actually had three done this year, after a long hiatus.”
