A donated dredge and excavator arrived in south Lafourche last week and went to work Wednesday, according to houmatoday.com.
This new piece of equipment, called the Amphibex 400, will help to create new wetlands outside the south Lafourche levee system near Grand Isle.
Windell Curole, the South Lafourche Levee Director , said: “ It’s like a Tonka truck on Christmas morning .”
The Amphibex 400 is manufactured by Normrock Industries in Terrebonne, Canada.
