The Barnstable County Commissioners introduced a plan for the purchase of a second dredging machine.
They are trying to include a $2 million bond authorization for the realization of this project, reports barnstablepatriot.com.
The Barnstable County currently owns The Codfish, an Ellicott® Series 670 “DRAGON®” Dredger, 14-inch hydraulic cutterhead pipeline dredging machine.
Regarding this plan, County Administrator Mark Zielinski , stated: “There will certainly be a period of time where we will have two operating dredgers, ” and added that the second dredger is expected to be of similar size as The Codfish.
