Three Southwest Michigan harbors are scheduled to receive an emergency dredging program, reports wsjm.com.
The Michigan Department of Natural Resources Emergency Dredging Plan, worth around US$1.5 million, includes:
– $1 million for the New Buffalo Municipal Marina dredging;
– $436,000 for the South Haven Municipal Marina dredging;
– $105,000 for the St. Joseph West Basin Marina harbor dredging.
Regarding this plan, State Representative Al Pscholka said: “ This is a first step in the right direction, we need to continue to work with the department and others to make sure our harbors are safe, useful and productive.”
