A Model 7012 HP Versi-Dredge® uses its Starwheel Drive self-propulsion system to position itself into a new cut at a sea water intake lagoon in Saudi Arabia.
The Starwheel Drive system allowed the contractor to dredge continually for 24 hrs. without having to shut down or go idle to reposition the dredger.
Cable driven dredges were not an option for this project due to the 30 day time period. Self-propulsion was the only way to meet the demanding production requirements.
