For over ten years, local container haulier M&M Transport (Southern) Limited has been partnering with major shipping lines, agents and freight forwarders to help transport the goods that arrive in Southampton to locations around the UK.

During that time its team have earned a reputation for cost effective container solutions and a friendly, personalised service. Their services have expanded from container haulage to include transport management, warehousing and devanning, drop and swap, and more.

As the Company enters its eleventh year, owners Bill Moss and his son Will have joined forces with business growth specialist Russell Streeter to help expand the customer base and take the organisation to the next level.

“ We have been reasonably successful over the last 10 years, ” said Bill Moss , ”and we were privileged to work with some of the largest shipping lines and agents in the world. Will is instrumental in the success of the business, and now we want to ensure that M&M will be around when his children are grown up.”

Will Moss completed a degree in International Business in 2004, by which time he was spending all of his holidays working with his father.

“We have seen a lot of changes at the Port over the years. Southampton benefits from being the main port on the South Coast and we can service any customer in the UK. The dredging work that is currently ongoing will allow bigger vessels and bigger volumes. We want to make sure that we can take advantage of the opportunities which arise.”

With a fleet of owner-driven lorries under its management, M&M Transport have the flexibility to adapt to the daily challenges of the shipping and transportation business. M&M knows that because their sub-contractors are also entrepreneurs, they are highly motivated to provide the highest levels of service. Many have been with them for years.
