It’s part of Conwy County Council’s Waterfront project which is providing sea defences and improvements in Colwyn Bay.
The first load of sand was pumped ashore from an offshore dredger through a specially constructed steel pipeline to the beach in front of the new Porth Eirias watersports centre at Colwyn Bay last week.
Mike Priestley, the council’s cabinet member for highways, environment and sustainability , said: “ It’s a vital part of the coast protection work that is taking place along the promenade, but will provide a marvellous, permanent beach, which will be a great asset for Colwyn Bay.”
