Teledyne Benthos and Teledyne Odom Hydrographic announced the transfer of the Benthos geophysical sonar portfolio, including the Chirp III Sub-bottom profiler, C3D interferometic sonar, and newly released SIS-1725 side-scan sonar to Odom Hydrographic.

This realignment of products and technologies allows both organizations to better serve their primary markets and build upon their core competencies.

Dr. Thomas Altshuler, Vice President and Group General Manager of Teledyne Marine Systems said “ Benthos is pleased to see our sonar systems join the Odom Hydrographic portfolio. We will continue to focus on integrating sensors of all types into our market leading unmanned vehicles and marine systems. ”

The two business units will collaborate over the course of 2013 to establish manufacturing at Odom’s facility in Baton Rouge, while maintaining a high level of product support to existing and new customers.

Mr. Stephen Apsey, General Manager of Teledyne Odom Hydrographic added “ Odom Hydrographic thanks Teledyne Benthos for this important contribution to our portfolio. We welcome these new products and look forward to working with their customers. ”

Both business units will be present at the Ocean Business trade show in Southampton, UK April 9-11, to jointly discuss the geophysical products as well as other advanced technologies for marine operations.
