Damietta Port Authority has organized for the first time since its establishment under the auspices of ADM / Sami Suleiman Mahmoud chairmans of port authority a workshop under title (the phenomenon of siltation in Damietta port entrance channel, the problem and solutions) in collaboration with the Faculty of Science, University of Damietta and Sub Engineers Syndicate in Damietta.

The workshop was held on Wednesday, 05/08/2013 in the main meetings hall with a word of welcome from ADM Sami Suleiman chairman and Prof. Dr. Mamdouh Sofan chairman of the University of Damietta and then short description for the problem of siltation in the port and previous studies which were conducted in this regard.

Followed by the first session, which included the working papers of the participating professors from the Faculty of Engineering, Alexandria University and the College of Engineering in Port Said and the General Authority for the Protection of the beaches, the second session was devoted to discussions and recommendations and the formation of a working group to complete efforts to reach appropriate solutions.
