The Brant Beach replenishment program near 41st Street has officially commenced, according to barnegat-manahawkin.patch.com.

During this project, the Great Lakes Dredge & Dock Company will pump about 3 million cubic yards of sand to rebuild the highly eroded Long Beach Island areas.

According to Diane Dale, Harvey Cedar’s Municipal Clerk, about 1,000 feet of beachfront along Harvey Cedars will also be closed for a replenishment program.

Patch.com reports that the closed areas will move along within the works.

This means that as the replenishment project moves north and south to rebuild the original project area from 31st to 56th streets, the beaches will be closed.
