The Port of Kalama has appointed a new environmental manager, Tabitha Reeder. Reeder is the first full-time environmental manager at the Port and will manage all environmental affairs of the Port including development permitting, regulatory compliance, environmental assessments and site remediation consistent with the Port’s strategic plan.
Reeder, who has a strong background in environmental science and regional planning with an MS from Washington State University, comes to the Port with 16 years in the field of natural resources. Prior to her appointment at the Port of Kalama, Reeder served on numerous environmental projects as a manager with the consulting firm BergerABAM in Vancouver, Washington. Just some of the Port of Kalama projects Reeder has managed as a consultant include:
– Maintenance Dredging;
– North Port Marine Terminal Dock Expansion;
– Kalama Terminal Concept Design and Permitting;
– Kalama Export Company Aquatic Lease Reauthorization;
– Kalama Export Company Marine Terminal Improvement project.
Reeder has also worked in environmental management and permitting roles at Washington State University, Lower Columbia Community College, and Clark County Department of Public Works.
“Tabitha’s strong project management and environmental permitting experience on our projects as our outside consultant have made her transition into the Port seamless, ” says Mark Wilson, executive director, Port of Kalama . “Tabitha will provide expert environmental guidance on the Port’s pending projects like Spencer Creek Business Park, Haydu Park and expansion of the North Port Marine Terminal.”
