The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New York District, plans to issue an Invitation for Bids (IFB) for the placement of 1,015,000 cubic yards of sand onto the Asbury Park beaches.
This project intends to restore the Asbury Park to Avon-by-the-Sea reach of the Sea Bright to Manasquan (NJ) Beach Erosion Control Project to its originally authorized profile.
Sand will be dredged by the contractor from the Sea Bright offshore borrow area, located 3-5 miles offshore of Sea Bright, NJ. The estimated project duration is 210 days.
The magnitude of this project is between $10 mln and $25 mln, and the bid opening date will be on or about 28 August 2013.
