City Council of Shaker Heights, on July 22, inked a deal which would include dredging of Green Lake, better known as the “Duck Pond”.

According to Cleveland.com, dredging would be finished possibly by early next year, beginning over the winter months.

“We’ve supported the program, because it significantly benefits Shaker Heights. It provides ongoing services to the community that we would otherwise have to undertake ourselves and provide funding,” Mayor Earl Leiken said.

Most of the Shaker Lakes are too shallow because of sediment buildup and should be dredged.
