Along the banks of the Cemetery Resaca in the historic Old City Cemetery in Brownsville, the Brownsville Public Utilities Board (BPUB) officially recently marked the launch of the Resaca Restoration Project.
BPUB General Manager & CEO John S. Bruciak served as master of ceremonies at the event, introducing various key officials to speak about the occasion.
Speakers at the event included: Brownsville Mayor Tony Martinez; BPUB Chairman Enrique G. Najera; BPUB Vice-Chairman Oscar D. Garcia; BPUB Board Member Arturo R. Faras; Annemarie Whitko, M.S., civil engineering project manager with Ambiotec Engineering Group Inc.; Michael Hodges, president & CEO of Genesis Water; and Dr. Jude Benavides, associate professor of Environmental Sciences at the University of Texas at Brownsville.
