The White Lake Public Advisory Council (PAC) is hosting a public meeting on an upcoming sediment dredging project at the former Whitehall Leather tannery site.
The public meeting will be held today, at the Whitehall City Hall, 405 E. Colby Street.
“ Lower lake levels exposed more of the land and shore at the tannery site. While doing an assessment of the shoreline for debris, scum and other aesthetics issues, we noted purple sediments on the lake bottom and possible contamination along the water line ,” recently stated Jeff Auch, executive director of the district , regarding this issue.
