The five kidnapped workers were released two days ago by their abductors at the Nembe area of Bayelsa State, reports vanguardngr.com.
They have been released on Monday and dropped at Nembe Community where the Police Anti-kidnapping team rescued them, stated Mr Alex Akhigbe, the state police public relations officer.
The workers, employed in the BEKS KIMSE Nig. Ltd dredging company, were undertaking the Opuama shore protection and reclamation work when the incident occurred.
Akhigbe confirmed the release of the dredging workers without ransom.

Unknown gunmen kidnapped five dredging workers last week in the vicinity of the creek of Opuama in Southern Ijaw, Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, according to allafrica.com.
“ The workers were seized by the gunmen who stormed the dredger in a speedboat and disappeared with their victims whose whereabouts are unknown ,” stated a local resident.
