CCCC Shanghai Dredging Co., Ltd. has recently signed the contract for Lot 2 of the east cofferdam and reclamation works of Phase 2 of the reclamation project in Qinhuangdao Economic & Technological Development Zone (QETDZ), with a contract value of 350 million yuan and a construction period of 14 months.
Located in the east section of QETDZ, close to the boundaries of Hebei and Liaoning provinces, the project involves dump filling of cofferdam rock, wave wall and land reclamation. The cofferdam has a full length of 1,400 meters, the land reclamation area is 1,296.56 mu and the reclamation volume is some 8.7 million cubic meters.
The area formed through reclamation will accommodate industrial bases such as the base for ship building and repair, the base for metal processing and the base for oil drilling machinery. The project is of great significance to developing the coastal economy and saving land resources.
