GEO Business, the brand new geospatial Exhibition and Conference for everyone involved in the gathering, storing, processing and delivering of geospatial information has recently announced a Call for Papers.

Organised in collaboration with The Survey Association (TSA), Chartered Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors (ICES) and the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) the international trade exhibition, cutting edge conference and programme of live workshops and demonstrations will be taking place in London from 28-29 May 2014 at the Business Design Centre, Islington.

The Conference Technical Committee, led by Conference Chairman Chris Preston from Network Rail, is seeking papers and work-in-progress reports on all aspects of geospatial technology and applications with a particular emphasis on papers that address the key commercial and technical issues facing the industry. Interested parties should submit their abstracts by the deadline of 29th January 2014.

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to: recent project examples; big data and the role of geospatial professionals; survey operations and systems integration; developments in GIS; BIM meets geospatial; positioning, location and tracking with global navigation satellite systems applications; hydrographic/coastal/nearshore; land administration; data processing, presentation and applications; specifications and standards; educating the future global geospatial expert; international issues.

The recent launch of GEO Business is the result of an extensive consultation process with industry, which has highlighted the need for a joint cooperative event involving all the key players representing the geospatial community. “ GEO Business will provide an important and much needed focal point for the Geospatial community “, said Graham Mills, President of The Survey Association . Alan Barrow, President of ICES added, “ This event brings together the principal leading organisations in the surveying community in a truly collaborative spirit.”

GEO Business is expected to attract the world’s leading suppliers of geospatial technology and service providers. It is an opportunity for manufacturers, suppliers and service providers to showcase their capabilities and solutions in this fast moving industry and is already supported by key industry organisations.
