Phase II of the canal dredging project in the Town of Southern Shores commenced on October 1, 2013.
Owners of watercrafts are advised that all remaining undredged canals may be blocked until February 15, 2014, due to required placement of silt-screens across canal openings.
Due to the narrow width of the canals and the required mechanical equipment necessary to dredge, the Town and its contractor will not be liable for inadvertent damage to watercraft left moored in any canal during dredging operations, announced southernshores-nc.gov.
