USA: Corps Presents Isle of Wight and Sinepuxent Bay Dredging Plans

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Baltimore District, has announced a plan for the Isle of Wight and Sinepuxent Bay dredging projects.

The maintenance dredging of the Isle of Wight channel will include removal of approximately 18,000 cubic yards of material and either creating an island in the Isle of Wight Bay or placing it on the beach at 33rd street.

The maintenance dredging of the Sinepuxent Bay channel is expected to occur at intervals along the entire channel length of 12 miles. The proposed work consists of maintenance dredging of about 400,000 cubic yards of material. The dredged material will be used to create three islands in the bay as well as some for beach renourishment.

The estimated value of these contracts is between $1 mln and $5 mln, and the solicitation will be posted on or about November 25, 2013.
