The fifth season of PCB cleanup from the Fox River comes to an end.

This work included dredging in a number of areas between the De Pere dam and the project’s processing facility in Green Bay.

Progress for the week ending November 9:

– Estimated volume of sediment dredged – 12,744 cubic yards;

– Estimated amount of processed sediment produced – 6,515 tons;

– Estimated tonnage hauled to the landfill – 3,808 tons;

– Truckloads to the landfill – 159;

– Water treated and discharged to the river – 25,500,000 gallons;

– Area of river bottom sand covered – 5.29 acres;

– Area of gravel cover – 0 acres.

Progress during the 2013 dredging, capping and covering season (through November 9):

– Estimated volume of sediment dredged – 570,902 cubic yards;

– Estimated tonnage of sediment produced – 256,418 tons;

– Estimated tonnage hauled to the landfill – 276,982 tons;

– Truckloads to the landfill – 11,586;

– Water treated and discharged to the river – 853,500,000 gallons;

– Area of river bottom sand covered – 106.62 acres;

– Area of gravel cover – 13.41 acres.

The project officially started with dredging and processing on April 28, 2009.
