The dredging of Hyannis Harbor is well underway. The Army Corps of Engineers Dredge Murden is running twelve hours a day, clearing silt from the channel and harbor. The dredging of Hyannis Harbor is well underway. The Army Corps of Engineers Dredge Murden is running twelve hours a day, clearing silt from the channel and harbor.
The buildup is a result of last year’s Superstorm Sandy and other winter storms. Work is expected to take about two weeks and is scheduled for completion December 5th.
Dredging will make passage through the harbor and channel more accessible for ferries and other large vessels.
