The officials announced a navigation notice for the McClellan-Kerr Arkansas River Navigation System.
Because of dredging, mariners are advised that until further notice, both upbound and downbound tows should run the red line between NM 178.0 and NM 178.8. No passing is advised while transiting through this reach.
The McClellan–Kerr Arkansas River Navigation System (MKARNS) is part of the inland waterway system originating at the Tulsa Port of Catoosa and running southeast through Oklahoma and Arkansas to the Mississippi River.
