To improve shipping services for those who live in Rotuma, a dredging project around the Oinafa jetty will be undertaken next year, according to fijivillage.com.
The accumulated sand around the jetty often makes it impossible for vessels to dock, stated Fiji Roads Authority Strategy, Planning and Performance Manager Christine Serreyn.
He added that the solution to this problem is to instigate a dredging program to remove built up sand.
