According to Arief R. Wismansyah, the Tangerang Mayor, the Cisadane River dredging project is scheduled for 2015.
The main goal of this cleanup program, which will last from 2015 until 2018, is to prevent the devastating floods in the Tangerang area.
Dredging will be undertaken on a 21 kilometer stretch of the Cisadane River, in the regency of Tangerang, reports antaranews.com.
The city authorities plan to relocate the people, mainly squatters, from the river banks, before the dredging starts.
