The Missouri River Recovery Implementation Committee (MRRIC) will hold its 24th meeting on February 11–13 in Kansas City, Mo.
Public and media attendance are encouraged, and an opportunity is provided during each day for the public to address the Committee and the lead agencies, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, regarding the Missouri River Recovery Program (MRRP).
This meeting will be held at the Westin at Crown Center, 1 E Pershing Road, Kansas City, Mo., beginning at 8 a.m. Tuesday, February 11 and concluding at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, February 13.
At this meeting, MRRIC will discuss potential amendments to its Charter to recognize the Osage Nation as a MRRIC member and to add a 29th stakeholder seat.
In addition to receiving a presentation from the Independent Science Advisory Panel, to review several products the Committee will use, MRRIC will receive updates from its work groups and discuss the timeline and critical engagement points for development of the Missouri River Recovery Management Plan and Environmental Impact Statement.
The committee will continue to discuss how key social and economic aspects of the Missouri River may be influenced by Corps actions taken to avoid jeopardy to three ESA–listed species.
MRRIC is a 70-member committee, comprising stakeholders and representatives of Tribal, state and federal governments throughout the Missouri River Basin. This committee provides recommendations to federal agencies on the current and future activities of the MRRP.
The committee makes its substantive recommendations by consensus.
