USA: Navy Seeks Bids for Norfolk Dredging

The Norfolk Naval Station cleanup program, located in Norfolk, VA, will consist of hydraulic dredging of mud and silt, announced the Naval Facilities Engineering Command Office.

The dredged material will be placed at the North Containment Cell of Craney Island Dredge material Management Area, in Portsmouth, VA.

This location may be changed and this decision will be coordinated with the Army Corps of Engineers before dredging begins.

The solicitation release date for this cleanup project is 13 March 2014, and the total cost is between $1 mln and $5 mln.
