USA: Valdez Port Area to Be Dredged Soon

Approximately 243,800 cubic yards of material will be dredged from the Valdez Port area soon, according to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Alaska District. Approximately 243,800 cubic yards of material will be dredged from the Valdez Port area soon, according to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Alaska District.

Currently, USACE Alaska is conducting research prior to releasing a solicitation for Valdez Navigation Improvements.

This development program will also involve the construction of approximately 2,500 feet of rubble-mound breakwater, which will be a three layer rock system comprised of Armor Rock, B Rock and Core Material.

The total value of this contract is between $10 mln and $25 mln.
