USA: Corps Prepares Dredging Plan for Lower Columbia River

According to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Portland District, the Lower Columbia River dredging program will involve cleanup work in Baker Bay, Chinook Channel, Skipanon Channel, Wahkiakum Ferry Channel and Westport Slough. According to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Portland District, the Lower Columbia River dredging program will involve cleanup work in Baker Bay, Chinook Channel, Skipanon Channel, Wahkiakum Ferry Channel and Westport Slough.

Approximately 75,000 cubic yards of material will be dredged from Baker Bay, 85,000 cubic yards from Chinook Channel, 95,000 cubic yards from Skipanon Channel, 20,000 from Wahkiakum Ferry Channel and 30,0000 from Westport Slough.

The time window for dredging work will be from August 1 through December 15, and the total cost is between $1 mln and $5 mln.

A pre-solicitation meeting will be held on April 24, 2014, and the solicitation will be available on or about June 13, 2014.
