Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) has informed the shipping, harbour craft and pleasure craft communities in Singapore’s waters that the Pioneer Shipyard dredging project commenced last week.
This cleanup scheme, located off West Jurong Channel, will be undertaken by the grab dredgers, held in position with anchors. The dredgers, with hopper barges in attendance, will have a circular safety working zone of 50 m.
The dredged materials will be transported to the designated dumping ground by the hopper barges assisted by pusher tugs.
The completion of this deepening program is scheduled for July 31, 2014.
