Colwyn Bay beach has seen approximately 220,000m3 of sand imported onto the beach since work began on 18 April to bring in material which has been taken from the sea bed as part of an ongoing sea defence project in the town.
The last load of sand was delivered at high tide on Sunday evening via a 1km pipeline connected to a dredger offshore, and will now be distributed along the beach between The Pier and the Cayley Embankment.
The work is part of the Waterfront project in Colwyn Bay which is carrying out vital repair work to the sea wall, as well as importing sand to restore beach levels and protect it, which was funded by a £5m flood defence grant from the Welsh Government.
This project also includes renewing the section of promenade between Porth Eirias and the Pier.
