The Port of Abbot Point plans to undertake hydrographic surveys on an annual basis, announced North Queensland Bulk Ports Corporation (NQBP).
The hydrographic survey vessel Norfolk will be conducting routine survey work in the Port of Abbot and surrounding waters from Saturday 24 May 2014 until Wednesday 28 May 2014.
Maritime Safety Queensland requires regular surveys to be undertaken at all ports to ensure shipping channels, swing basins and berths remain safe for shipping with appropriate depths for keel clearances.
