USA: Bay Ridge and Red Hook Channels Require Dredging Work

Approximately 127,000 cubic yards of material will be dredged from the Bay Ridge and Red Hook Channels during the following months, according to the Army Corps of Engineers, New York District. Approximately 127,000 cubic yards of material will be dredged from the Bay Ridge and Red Hook Channels during the following months, according to the Army Corps of Engineers, New York District.

This cleanup project will consist of dredging of a shoal area located in front of the South Brooklyn Marine Terminal (SBMT). Dredged material will be placed at the Historic Area Remediation Site (HARS) by using bottom dumping barges.

The work is estimated to cost between $1 mln and $5 mln, and the specifications for this project will be available on or about 24 June 2014 with bid opening on or about 24 July 2014.

The contractor will be required to commence work within 5 days after the reception of the notice to proceed.
