During the week of August 18-22, the Port of Kingston will be closing the marina to all vessel travel during select hours.
This marina closure is a crucial part of the upcoming marina dredging project which requires the Port to relocate eelgrass out of the area to be dredged.
As part of this eelgrass relocation, several divers will be in the water for extended periods of time, and that is the main reason why the Port cannot allow any vessel to enter the diver safety zone.
The launch ramp will be closed during these times and vessels will not be allowed to enter, exit or operate in the marina, slip or channel area. The water area near the fishing pier and barge will also be included in these closures.
