The City of Madison–Engineering Division is proposing a project in Wingra Creek, near the Parks Maintenance Facility and Quann Dog Park.
The project will stabilize the creek banks, as well as realign the channel to provide a more natural appearance. Realigning the channel will consist of constructing littoral shelves in a meandering pattern and dredging the channel.
“ Due to additional project requirements and increased material costs for some items, we will need to slightly revise the project. We will be discussing the proposed changes at a public meeting on Monday, September 15th, at 6:30 p.m. The meeting will be held in the community space of Arboretum Cohousing, located at 1137 Erin Street ,” they announced.
“ The channel dredging and littoral shelf (meander) construction will still occur. We will discuss possible material changes, dredge depth, and quantity of floating wetland installations.”
