Egypt’s Antiquities Minister, Mamdouh Damaty inspected the site of the New Suez Canal project yesterday.

During his tour, the minister listened to a detailed explanation of the project’s phases. He also reviewed all maps of the project to spotlight the archaeological development projects, which are scheduled to be implemented in the region.

Ismailia governor Ahmed el-Qasas along with several officials accompanied the minister during the tour.

The New Suez Canal project will boost Egypt’s economy and help speed up the movement of vessels through the 193 km long canal, which connects the Red Sea to the Mediterranean Sea.
