The City of Alexandria has awarded a construction contract to McLean Contracting Company to perform maintenance dredging of the City Marina.
The construction work is anticipated to begin later this month and be substantially complete by January 31, 2015. All of the construction activities will take place on the river, including staging and overnight storage of equipment, creating no landside impacts.
A floating turbidity curtain, used to control discharge of sediment, will be placed and periodically relocated as crews move throughout the project area.
The turbidity curtain may periodically impact waterside access to some portions of the marina. All equipment will be lighted and marked as required.
