Corps Meetings on John H. Kerr SMP

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Wilmington District, will be hosting public listening sessions on the update to the John H. Kerr Shoreline Management Plan (SMP) beginning on Nov. 13. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Wilmington District, will be hosting public listening sessions on the update to the John H. Kerr Shoreline Management Plan (SMP) beginning on Nov. 13.

The public may review the draft SMP and provide comments. John H. Kerr staff will be available at the listening sessions to answer questions and/or address concerns directly related to the SMP.

Three public listening sessions are scheduled as follows:

– Thursday, Nov. 13, 2014 at American Legion Hall, South Hill, VA 4 – 7 p.m.;

– Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2014 at Satterwhite Point SP Community Building, Henderson, NC 4 – 7 p.m.;

– Thursday, Nov. 20, 2014 at Clarksville Community Center, Clarksville, VA 4 – 7 p.m.

Also, John H. Kerr staff will be available to answer questions at the Visitor Assistance Center located at 1930 Mays Chapel, Road,Boydton, VA 23917, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The listening sessions will be conducted in an open house-type format with no formal presentation.
