The upper Hudson River dredging program, administered by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and General Electric (GE), will be in progress during the 2014 Navigation Season between Lock C-4 in Stillwater and Lock C-8 in Fort Edward.
The dredging operations are lighted, have day shapes and arrow boards displayed. Additional informational signs have been posted in the project area.
Activities Planned for the Week of November 10, 2014:
– Barge unloading operations immediately south of Lock C-8;
– Barge loading operations in the vicinity of buoy Red 60;
– Project hazard buoys marking shallow water areas just outside the navigational channel are located just north of buoy Green 133;
– No Wake buoys in the land cut north of Lock 6 marking the no wake zone established in the vicinity of the Isthmus Transfer Area;
– Norwegian buoys indicating shallow water areas located outside the navigational channel are located between buoy Red 68 and Red 66;
– Norwegian buoy used as a temporary mooring located outside the navigational channel is located between buoy Red 72 and Red 66;
– Norwegian buoy indicating the location of a submerged tree is located in the vicinity of buoy Red 62B;
– Backfill/capping operations between approximately buoy Red 88 and Green 77;
– Backfill/capping operations between approximately buoy Red 68 and Green 71;
– Backfill/capping operations between approximately buoy Red 42 and Red 12.
