Littlehampton Harbour, located on the south coast between Chichester and Worthing and close to the South Downs National Park, has just issued local notice to mariners about the beginning of dredging works at the Shoal bank.
The mariners are advised that dredging will take place on the shoal bank on the west side of the main channel at the entrance to the harbour on 1st-3rd December 2014.
Shoreside plant will consist of two excavators that will remove shingle from the river and load tipper trucks in the vicinity of the West Beach car park.
Operations will take place in daylight hours and mariners are advised to keep well clear of excavator arm working in the river.
