Significant progress has been made over the first few months on a £36 million scheme to improve coastal defenses between Holland-on-Sea and Clacton.
The main contractor for the scheme is VBA Joint Venture Limited, with the project being managed by Mott MacDonald.
This video shows the start of the full beach recharge for phase one of the coastal protection scheme.
Material is being pumped via pipe to the beaches from the dredger Causeway anchored off the shoreline.
The current works program runs through to early January and a decision on continuing to work through the winter will be taken later this autumn when more accurate weather predictions are available.
