Stockholms Hamn AB (Ports of Stockholm) has announced a tender for the dredging works in Stockholm, Nynashamn and Norvikudden.
This dredging contract will involve the following activities:
– Rock excavation of about 200,000m³;
– Excavation of rock fill of about 200,000m³;
– Excavation of friction soil of about 50,000m³;
– Excavation of soft masses of about 700,000m³.
The Port has sought permission to tip 900,000m³ of dredged material at sea and dumping will occur offshore, about 13 nautical miles from Stockholm – Norvik.
The top layer of dredged materials may contain diffuse pollutants, which may have to be taken care of on land. The quantity of contaminated soil is estimated to be 30,000m³.
Rock masses blasted away under the surface are to be used as construction materials for filling Utterviken area.
The tender deadline is January 15, 2015.
