Dredging works to remove about 3.000.000 m3 of material from Piombino Harbor are currently underway.
These works, undertaken by DEME Group, are included in the project for the realization of facilities and environmental interventions aimed to the improvement and the industrial competitiveness of the harbor.
The works are being performed by two trailing suction hopper dredgers, “Orwell” and “Pallieter”, and one cutter suction dredger “Amazone”.
